Is Iran safe to travel?
Current Situation
Because of the war involving Iran, the US and Israel, Iran is currently not safe to travel to, and we are not organizing tours at the moment. Most international flights to Iran have been cancelled. We hope the situation improves soon and will update this page when it does.
As of October 2026, several governments advise against travel to Iran. The US advises not to travel (Level 4) and urges its citizens to leave; Australia says do not travel; Canada advises avoiding all travel; and the UK advises against all travel. The reasons they give include a volatile security situation, armed conflict, civil unrest, the threat of terrorism and the risk of arbitrary detention. Many travel insurance policies do not cover Iran.
Our guests often describe Iranians as exceptionally welcoming, but the situation can change quickly, so please read your own government’s current advice. We monitor the situation daily.
Entering Iran
Now with the war situation it is impossible to enter Iran by plane, as most flights are cancelled.
Under normal circumstances to arrive on one of the international airports (Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, Mashhad, Tabriz, Ahvaz, Kermanshah) of Iran is generally a fast and hassle-free procedure. You are most likely to be warmly welcomed by the customs, your visa will be checked and off you!
