Travelguide Baluchistan, Iran

Baluchistan

Probably the most remote part of Iran is Sistan-e Baluchistan. A province near Pakistan with endless rough moonscape like landscapes like the Martian mountains and even beautiful beaches where the desert meets the Gulf of Oman. Visit the port of Chabahar with it's colorful fisher boats.

Martian Mountains:

The Martian Mountains, also known as the Valley of the Mars, are a unique geological formation located in the heart of the Dasht-e Lut desert. The mountains get their name from their red and orange hues, which give them an otherworldly appearance reminiscent of the surface of Mars.

The Martian Mountains are a popular destination for visitors to Sistan-e Baluchistan, and are particularly stunning at sunrise and sunset when the colors are at their most vibrant. Visitors can take guided tours or hike on their own to explore the rocky terrain and take in the breathtaking views.

Chabahar is a coastal city located on the Gulf of Oman, in the southeastern part of Sistan-e Baluchistan. The city is known for its natural harbor, which is the only oceanic port in Iran, and serves as an important trade route to Central Asia.

Chabahar is also a popular destination for tourists, thanks to its beautiful beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a variety of outdoor activities.

Darak Beach is one of the most beautiful and pristine beaches in Sistan-e Baluchistan. The beach is located about 70 kilometers from the city of Chabahar, and is known for its crystal-clear waters, white sand, and rolling sanddunes. Here you see isolated palmtrees in the desert, while actually you are very near the ocean.
