QOM

Is the religious capital of the Shia's Islam, a holy city for all Shia people. The city is also a railway and road junction for all Iran, it is almost mandatory to pass through it, in addition to the two shrines the region offers trekking in the mountains and excursions in the nearby desert, as well as numerous caravanserais. Qom is an important city for muslim's studies, most of importat Mullas, Khomeyni as well, studied here.

Main sights:

  • Masume Shrine: this shrine is one of the most important in Iran and for the Shiite religion, visiting the tomb is often crowded on Fridays and religious holidays.
  • Khomeyni House: Khomeini stayed in this house for several years during his studies, currently open as a museum.
  • Deyr Gachin Caravanserai: is one of the biggest and remained beautiful caravanserai in all of Iran.
